  1. I agree that technology is needed in classrooms. It seems that the world is going toward technology and there is a need for it. Here are my recommendations for your week 4 assignments. Hope it helps.
To see if factors like STAAR score are positively affected by computers you might what to compare student’s scores. Those who use computers to those that do not. Just keep in mind that to compare student’s scores students need to be similar in background before applying computer programs.
For districts’ goal of improving innovative technological advances you might what to add something like how technology is being used in college and work force that classrooms could need to better prepare students.

    1. Thanks so much! I'm having a hard time narrowing down my ideas. I'm going to meet with our district Director of Digital Services on Monday and I'm hoping he can answer a lot of questions for me. I'll post them as soon as possible. I did take your advice on how technology affected college students before and after high school. The two girls I surveyed said their high school experiences with technology did not prepare them for college at all. Interesting!

  2. We have similar action plans so I will definately be following your progress. I hope we can bounce around some ideas and collaborate! :) BTW - love the pics!! Just a suggestion, but what about surveying your students and see how technology has affected instruction, how often it is used and what is the most effective form of technology. I don't know if that research would help you get a well rounded viewpoint from all stakeholders. Paola has provided great insight in correlating the technological advances to how technology is being used in college and work. I think I might need to add that to my action plan..great idea!

    1. Thanks for the ideas, I will survey my students for sure. I did survey 2 freshman college students who just graduated from our high school about their use of technology while in school and how it affected their learning and if it did or did not make a positive impact for them. Both said it did not make a good impact nor did it prepare them for college. One of the students said all of her homework is on-line and wasn't anything she has done before. Interesting! I would love to bounce ideas back and forth and collaborate! Thanks ~
